What is the difference btwn women’s laxatives and all-bran 50% fiber cereal?

I am nervous to take laxatives because I don’t know how it will make me feel…. I am not exactly taking this because I need it.
in the last months i have gained 10 pounds and i need to get it off quick!! help!

Well, most laxatives are chemical irritants with no nutrients. All bran cereal contains a non-soluble fiber,which is not nearly as irritating to the colon, and you get some vitamins and minerals in the mix. Your body was designed to work with the food- and use the fiber in the cereal, plus absorb the nutrients it contains. Your body was not designed to have all the systems overridden by a chemical irritant. If you do not need a laxative, you should not take one. I should think that would be pretty obvious. You were designed for food, not pills. While one episode of laxatives probably won’t hurt anything, in the long run- laxative abuse does take it’s toll on you. Those tiny bits of damage add up, and you increase your risk of colon cancer, irritable bowel, Crohn’s disease, etc. If you want a healthy gut, eat the cereal.

    better to get a more balanced diet, than takes pills for it. plenty of fluids which will makes things looser, and easier.

    don’t take laxatives for weight loss that would be a bad way to do it.

    Well if you don’t actually need it and just want to make sure you are regular, I would recommend the cereal. On the other hand, if you are constipated and having stomach pains, I would suggest Milk Of Magnesia to relieve it. Unlike other laxatives, it causes NO stomach cramps at all and it works within 1/2 hr-6 hrs while most others take up to 12 hrs!!!

    If you start taking laxatives it will hurt you in the long run. You won’t be able to poo without them eventually and that will make you gain weight. Just eat more fruit and veggies and start exercising more. Bran muffins are high in fiber but they are also high in fat and calories. Vegetables are high in fiber but have very low calories. Please don’t make your weight your life…it will stop you from enjoying it!

    All bran is a natural way of helping to eat a balanced diet for folks who do not have a balanced diet. Pills, medicines etc are largely chemical based and should not be required.

    What on earth is a ‘woman’s laxative ‘ ????!!!!!
    If you don’t need something, why are you taking it?
    All-Bran is a natural high fibre cereal, which is a healthy breakfast.
    Laxatives are medication. that should rarely be used for an occasional bout of constipation. This can be avoided if you take regular high fibre diet.
