by admin ·

I have been constipating for the last few times that I have gone! I really hate it, the last time I noticed there was a little spot of blood (tiny), what can cause constipation? And what foods can i eat to help it??? Thanks for the help.

eat lots of fiber salad ,fruits like apple ,riped papaya, grapes
drink atleast 6-8 glasses of water .. In winter lukewarm water is good …avoid eating refined flour foods like white bread, pizza, etc ..eat veggies…
i hope it will help …
dont ignore this problem some time this problem leads to haemmoriods, anal fissure etc…

You should try eating prunes or drinking prune juice. My mom also swears by black licorice.

Just do a web search on "high fiber foods" and read through the listed sites. Also, drink a lot of water throughout the day.

high fibre stuff, like rhubarb, fruit, dried plums are meant to really help. my mum told me not to eat to much of those because i would be going to the toilet alot lol.

it's mostly caused by dehydration, or not enough fibre. if you see a bit of blood, this may be because your skin is having to stretch a bit (sorry that doesn't sound nice). but if it's really bad, maybe you should see a pharmacist (they're more specialised than GPs)

Try things like cerial with bran, look for high in fibre.Brown bread.Lots of water, and do a bit of exercise, don't just sit down waiting for it to happen,go for a walk.In the morning try some hot water with some fresh lemon in it,this wakes up the digestive system. If not then go to the chemists, they'll give you summin.Theres something you can get called lactulose for constipation which is just basically a suger syrup,so maybe try drinking something suggery.Good luck

To prevent constipation drink more water and/or eat more fiber. You can find fiber in certain fruits and vegetables and they also make a powder you can sprinkle in any food or drink called Fiber-sure.

Constipation is not healthy and if it persists for more than a day or two you should see your Doctor.

I've had trouble all my life with constipation so I know how you are feeling. All-bran, Raisen Wheats or Weetabix will give movement to the bowel. Also Wholegrain bread. These foods should help to keep you regular, but if you're like me and don't like these cereals or brown bread then there is a new product out called Benefiber. I have been taking this since Christmas and it has changed my life. I'm one of those people who only go about once every 4 or 5 days. Since taking this I go every day. It's wonderful as I no longer feel bloated. It's a white powder and it's totally tasteless, which is brilliant. You stir 2 tea-spoonfuls twice a day into your tea, coffee, milk, juice or yoghurt, etc but not in fizzy drinks like coke. You can also add it to other foods as well. It is Sodium free and Sugar free. You can buy this product in Boots or Holland & Barrett. I hope this has been helpful to you.

    All the Best
