She is really struggling to do the business, and when she does the stools are really hard. What tends to cause constipation and what naural remedies are there?

I had to deal with the same problem when my son was 6 months old and he would have the same problem every now and then . Now he got better after the nurse gave me these advice.

When giving solid food, try giving only vegetables and skip the meats like pork, beef and fish. Eat more vegetables as they have loads of fiber. when he gets better, give her more vegetables over meat. eg:2/3 veges & 1/3 meat.

Meantime, also give her some fruit juice mixed with some water. Prune juice works well. You can also choose to give her fruit puree like papaya as papaya has loads of fiber so can help her problem.
