Is there an at home colon cleanse diet that doesn’t require fasting?

I would love to cleanse my colon! However drinking only lemonade for ten days doesn’t seem to be a safe way to do things (I live in Arizona and trust me, when it is 120 outside you don’t want to be running on E). Is there a safe and effective method for colon cleansing that includes some food?
TY anyone in advance!

This is a great question and having done all sorts of cleanses, plus lived in AZ, I agree that fasting on lemon drink is the last thing you want to do.

There is a great website detailing some other easy ways to cleanse the colon at home including the high fiber diet, raw foods diet and homemade herbal cleansing. Here it is:

I myself use a great product from New Zealand once a year to complete my cleansing:

How can I avoid constipation from this rice?

I just ate like six cups of white rice with strawberries at about 12 midnight tonight. Both foods cause constipation.

How long will it take before I start to pass this rice? When should I take an over-the-counter laxative so I can time it so my stools dont come out painfully? Now? Tomorrow?

that depends, dont take laxative unless u really need to, it will pass. i say about a day or two but it will be over in no time. :) best wishes.

What works better a colon cleanse (pills) or colon hydrotherapy?

I just wanted to know if a colon cleanse dose as a good job as a colon hydrotherapy? Does the hydrotherapy romove more stuff?

It depends on what you're trying to do it for. If you're just trying to clean out the bad stuff and help regularity, then colon cleanses are best, although the powders are usually easier so you aren't swallowing a dozen pills at a time. Colon cleanses are typically mostly fiber and herbs that encourage regularity, so they are very beneficial and safe.
If you are doing it for a colonoscopy or something where your colon needs to be REALLY clean, then hydrotherapy is the only option.

If you're wondering which is safer, that would be the colon cleanser. There are some things that should be in your colon (specifically probiotics) that an enema would wash out which could be detrimental to long-term regularity. In other words, an enema is only a short-term help and will make you more constipated if you use them too often. Fiber products would work with your body's chemistry to keep things moving normally. Good luck and I hope I helped!

Are there side effects to the colon cleanse products I'm reading about?

I've been reading about these over the counter colon cleanse powders and pills that are supposed to make you feel healthier, but I'm worried about side effects, like having to use the bathroom constantly. Has anyone out there tried products like Bromalite or Cleanse RX?

Colonic irrigation (colon cleansing) went out with high button shoes and I can't imagine why anyone thinks it is a good thing to do.

There are dangers such as mechanical injury, introduction of pathogens, and loss of electrolytes.

To feel and be healthy, eat well balanced meals containing adequate fiber, exercise, get adequate sleep, avoid ingesting and inhaling toxic substances.

Does anyone know the best most effective colon cleanse?

I've been hearing all the good things colon cleanse can do for you body ( getting rid of all the toxins and stuff). I was just wondering if anyone has a suggestion for the right colon cleanse to use. Maybe from personal experience or you might know of someone who has use it. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance.

I've been happy with using bowtrol… To be honest it's the only one I've ever tried, but I see no reason to try anything else.

Read my story with it here

Can I do a colon cleanse and still take my birth control pills?

I just started a colon cleanse, but the whole point of it is that it absorbs everything in your intestines and then pushes it out.

But I don't want my birth control absorbed out! Can I still take it and it be effective? Or if I woke up at 3 am in the morning (I take my last dose of colon cleanse stuff at 10 pm, the next one at 7 am) and took the BC would it still be effective?

thanks.

Probably not. Alot of people are warned about birth control pills interacting with antibiotics, or if they are having diarrhea or frequent loose stools. The reason for this is due to the fact that in order to be effective bacteria in your stomach must effectively break down parts of the hormones in the BC that have been recycled through your liver and must be re asborbed once again to reach the target hormone level (required to suppress ovulation). If the contents of the intestines are cleared prematurely, or there is a lack of bacteria (ie after taking an antibiotic) there is a risk of incomplete absorption of your BC.

Your suggestion theoretically would work, but I would be extra cautious. I would suggest either of two things:
a) Do not take your BC on the day you do your colon cleanse and take 2 pills the following day, then resume as normal.

b) Take your BC as normal, use backup contraception for 7 days after the colon cleanse (I would recommend using extra method of contraception for the remainder of your cycle).

It is ultimately up to you and how comfortable you are. There is always some slight risk regardless with birth control pills, but the number is quite low, mostly due to human error (such as missing pills).

Lastly, the colon is self cleansing and does not require products to cleanse the bowel or intestinal contents. Sometimes these products can lead to electrolyte disturbances such as hyponatremia, or hypokalemia. Obviously, this decision is up to you but you should be cautious when using them, and perhaps check with your doctor regarding its safety for you. Hope this helps.

How can I avoid my daughter having constipation when switching from formula to whole milk?

I've heard that drinking whole milk can cause constipation and I'd like to avoid that with my 1 year old daughter. I've also heard that putting some karo syrup in the milk will help but I don't know how much to put in; can anyone help?

give her lots of water, stay away from other dairy for a while and then gradually reintroduce it… like cheese, yogurt, etc. Just keep an eye and if you notice it being a problem, then worry. But until then just switch gradually and her system should keep up
