How do I get rid of this constipation?

I've been constipated for almost a week now and I don't know what to do. Does anyone have any home remedies or medicine that they can recommend that will make this constipation go away fast? I don't feel like waiting another day.

prunes–if you're a drinker-3parts prune juice 1 part vodka is a "piledriver" haha I made that part up!

    drink lots of water. My dr. told me to do this and it really worked. The main cause of constipation is dehyration. Your body needs more water than you are drinking.

    Well if you really don't feel like waiting (I don't blame you), go to the nearest pharamacy and buy an over-the-counter laxative. They all function about the same. As for a longer-term cure.. Drink more fluids and add more fiber to your diet (vegetables/fruits, whole meal bread and linseeds)

    I woud eat a lot of fiber in my diet. for instance oatmeal raw vegetables and fruits.and don't drink too much diary products not a lot of cheese either. eat a lot of salads and fiber foods and you will see and feel the difference and exercise sometimes too will also help too.

    water, prunes, fiber, are all good options for staying regular. but for now, if you haven't gone in a week, that's pretty serious. my immediate recommendation is prune juice, warmed up. i've been told that usually works in an hour. i'm not sure if a laxative would be your best option since you shouldn't wait too much longer. i would recommend either a glycerin suppository or an enema. whatever you do, do not force or push. this can cause bleeding and tears. if you don't go by tomorrow, i'd call your doctor. you could be impacted or have an obstruction.

    Plenty of water, kiwifruit or apricots! Laxitives may also help! exercise such as a gentle walk, pilates or yoga etc etc will also help the bowels start to move. If you are on some medications they can cause constipation so you should see a doctor and not leave it to long as it can make you very sick! Five days is an aweful long time to go without a bowel movement - beware of bowel obstructions from prolonged constipation! Best of Luck.
