Can Diet Alone Help Avoid Constipation?
Laxatives are the most common constipation treatment, but they are not the best option to treat constipation. A diet high in fiber is also a beneficial and a great way to avoid constipation because it adds bulk to stool. This allows the digestive system to push waste through the gastrointestinal tract to the rectum with less strain or effort. This helps regulate bowel movements and is the principle reason why a diet rich in fiber is a great way to avoid constipation problems. In addition to proper diet and hydration, keeping your gastrointestinal tract free from blockages will help avoid constipation as well. A good cleanser will remove any compacted feces clinging to the walls of the gastrointestinal tract which is what causes blockages to form.

I've also read that colon cleansing helps with constipation, do you know if this is true? I'm about to start my colon cleansing program, and I'm hoping it'll help with my mild constipation.
